Easter is one of our favorites family holidays. Because we really love the preparation process, when we need to paint Easter eggs, knead the dough for Easter cakes and come up with something to decorate them with. And over the last couple of years, thanks to Pinterest and the rest of the Internet, as well as an even greater selection of food coloring in stores, the design options for eggs are becoming more and more interesting. For example, we have already tried matte paints and marble ones with mother-of-pearl. They are so nice from a point of view tactile sensations, that if we knew who to feed with all the dozens of eggs we received, the child and I would be unstoppable)))) This is a very cool activity!

And this year I realized that there is a great way out. It is not necessary to boil all the eggs that we are going to paint. You can simply “blow out” the contents raw eggs and color the shell. And then, firstly, it is not necessary to use only food coloring; you can use acrylic, felt-tip pens, and glue. And secondly, such empty eggs can be hung on a string and used to decorate a living branch in a vase. The result will be a very European version of Easter decor.

Overall, if you haven't decided how yet, but are keen to experiment with Easter egg designs this year, this collection may help you with ideas.

Black and white style

Take regular white eggs and a children's black felt-tip pen on water based or a capillary pen, and don’t deny yourself anything!

6. Or you can paint the eggs entirely with black paint and create a design with white chalk. Very unusual and very stylish, in my opinion.

7. Instead of chalk, you can use white gouache.

Let's draw!

For these design options, you can use acrylic paints and felt-tip pens for empty eggshells, or take special food dyes for eggs (there are a lot of them in any supermarket now) and apply a design with a brush.

Peppermint Clouds

Tell me who doesn’t like mint and turquoise and I’ll say that you live in the last century.)) The general craze for these two shades could not ignore Easter. Therefore, this season we stock up on blue shades and feel free to use them everywhere! And let’s not forget to add indigo to complete the experience. And let our eyes enjoy the shades of the sea and sky!))

18. To get this beauty, simply wrap the shell with lace ribbon and secure it. And then boil the eggs in pre-prepared dyes.

23. A similar gradient can be obtained by adding a certain amount of water to the solution with the dye after each “batch”.

Gold

It’s very unusual and very girly to paint Easter eggs with gold. This can be powdered sugar with gold coloring (sold in specialized stores for confectioners, also available in Moscow), or liquid gold food coloring, or edible gold petals (what you won’t find among confectioners!). Get inspired!

Natural color

Old dyed eggs in a known way, using onion skins or strong tea or red wine, are still very relevant. And look how beautifully you can play with this theme!

35. Attach a leaf of cilantro, dill or rose to the egg, and wrap a nylon sock on top and cook in onion skins. The result will be very beautiful. And it will definitely cause a storm of delight among children!

36. This, of course, is not an eggshell, but the idea itself is cool. Use a letter stamp over the brown eggs.

37. And this type of decoration struck me to the very heart. So much hard work! Such fine craftsmanship! Easter lace.

If you want to know how such beauty is obtained, go to YouTube, they will teach you there!

Application principle

38. Grab some colorful Washi Tapes and create your own collection of stylish Easter eggs. The brighter the print, the more joy the child will have, who can be entrusted with the process of pasting.

39. Take an egg white, dip the egg in it, and then dip it in the cake sugar and let it all dry. Beautiful and safe for kids.

40. Here we simply used white paper appliqué on top of eggs painted with food coloring.

41. Cut out print elements from napkins, stick them on eggshells (here it is better to use empty shells rather than boiled eggs) using a solution of PVA glue and water, let dry.

42. Same principle

44. Same principle as with cilantro sprigs. Glue paper hearts to the shell, press with nylon or gauze and dip in dye.

45. If you find special “transfer” paper (decal paper) in Moscow and print pictures from the file on it

you can get a cool hipster design))

And finally, here are some ideas for decorating your home and table using Easter eggs, which, I’m sure, you won’t be able to resist and start decorating tomorrow.)) Happy Easter to you, friends!

If we discard purely church images, then the main symbol of Easter, without a twinge of conscience, can be called painted eggs with beautiful designs and decorations made by hand. Easter eggs can simply be painted in a single color palette, and then they will be called paints, or they can be elegantly decorated or painted, and then they will need to be called Easter eggs. Moreover, the designs on eggs for Easter can be very diverse, and it is not even necessary to have an ideological connection to religion.
IN modern world and there are almost no restrictions at all in decorating eggs for Easter: all materials that can only be used for these purposes are used, any symbolism, any ornaments and designs. Several things will help you surprise your loved ones with an original approach: original ideas. Choose what you like!

1. Black and white painting

If you move away from the tradition of giving Easter eggs purely bright and colorful colors, you can see new possibilities... for a simple marker! What could be simpler?
You need to select snow-white eggs, wash them thoroughly and boil until tender. You can apply any patterns that come to mind to a clean eggshell - full-fledged ornaments or various figures and symbols. Even a simple vest on an egg will turn out to be a very stylish solution!
Another option: paint the egg shells with safe chalk paint, and then you can even draw on it with chalk.

2. Creative watercolor

Another original option to make painted eggs for Easter very creative on the one hand and easy to make on the other is to use watercolors. For this purpose it is better to choose safe paints for children, so that even if the composition leaks through the pores of the shell, the egg white remains edible.
For this purpose, you should also choose only white eggs - the colors on them will reveal in full force. You can use only one color and apply stains in several layers, but applying two or three shades will look more original. If you are not familiar with harmonious color combinations, it is better to check the result of applying colors on white paper, and then start painting the Easter eggs themselves.

3. Tattoos on balls

Calm down, it's just a figure of speech!
This method will certainly be appreciated by supporters of body decoration, but children will like these designs on Easter eggs the most. You can buy any thematic sets of tattoo transfers in most children's or stationery stores.

4. Enchanting marble

This method of applying a design to Easter eggs is probably familiar to any woman who has done nail design or manicure with jewelry. Several colors of nail polish are dripped into a cup of water, and then drawn from the center to the edges or, more creatively, with a toothpick to make streaks. You should lower the egg onto the paint carefully - the varnish creates a thin film that can wrinkle or crumple, but after the second or third time there should be no problems.

Important! It is better not to eat Easter eggs decorated in this way - nail polishes are toxic and the shells are porous. But in this simple way you can create an amazing decor with a glossy shine.

5. The luxury of precious metals

Foil is a great way to decorate eggs for Easter in no time. You can buy foil with or without drawings and different colors. Simply by wrapping Easter eggs in metal leaves, you can make completely safe and beautiful symbols of the holiday, and if you take care and stick them figuratively, the Easter eggs will become a real work of art.

6. Ancient mosaic

Another original technique for applying designs to eggs for Easter with your own hands is to make a mosaic with your own hands. The method allows you to make three-dimensional decor that is completely safe for children and adults. And most importantly, the materials are always at hand!
The mosaic pattern is made from the shells of other eggs - there will probably be plenty of it anyway before Easter after preparing salads for the feast. It is colored with food coloring and then glued to the shell of a pre-boiled egg. You can create patterns, but it will be easier and no less beautiful to create a simple colorful drawing.

7. Cartoons wish you a Happy Easter

Even children who really, really don’t like to eat boiled eggs will not refuse such a treat. When your favorite characters come to congratulate you on the holiday, how can you refuse?
True, it is unlikely that you will be able to apply a design to Easter eggs with children - the work here will require more accuracy and painstakingness than most of the options described above, but it is worth it. You can use safe watercolors or thickly diluted food coloring as paint.

8. Dragon eggs

We know what kind of testicles fans of Game of Thrones and most other interesting fantasy films with dragons will be beating this Easter.
Dragon eggs are divided into two main types - shiny scaly ones (sequins or other suitable materials from a sewing or decor store) and fossilized, with cracks. The latter are done like this: the shell of a hard-boiled egg is cracked on top, and then the egg is placed in a container with food coloring. Before serving, the dyes must be half peeled - under the cracked eggshell you will find nice cracks.

9. Decorating eggs in eco-style

What could look more natural than eco-style? On the one hand, such painting of Easter eggs hints at rich history holiday, on the other hand, it’s still very fashionable.
Multi-colored cereals, lentils, dried herbs and spices are suitable for decorating Easter eggs in this style.

10. Eggs, you are just space!

Easter symbols painted in this way will definitely not go unnoticed on festive table, and the technique is simple to implement! It is enough to drop a few well-matching colors onto a saucer, make large stains and saturate the napkin. It needs to be crumpled up so that it can be wrapped around the egg, secured and left for several hours.
If you add a fluorescent composition to the paint mixture, then the “cosmic” painted eggs will also be able to glow in the dark.

Eggs painted in one color are called painted eggs, and eggs painted with ornaments or plot patterns are called pysanky. Classic pysanka is a complex way of painting Easter eggs, which uses wax, steel feathers or hooks, and special paints. But along with traditional dyeing methods, there are a large number of simpler and more original methods to paint an egg. Even kids can paint Easter eggs with watercolors, gouache or markers. You can also use watercolor pencils, corrector, felt-tip pens, gel pens and other standard writing instruments. At the same moment, the chicken egg he was holding in his hands turned red, confirming the news of Mary Magdalene. Other versions date the origin of the tradition back to pre-Christian times.

The saturation of the pattern depends on the degree of dilution of the paint with water. You can first cover the entire surface of the egg with a light layer of watercolor, and then, while the paint is still wet, add more concentrated and saturated spots.

The core of watercolor pencils consists of pressed watercolors, which allows them to be dissolved with water. In other words, we draw as if with colored pencils, and then we go over the image with a damp brush or cotton wool and get a watercolor drawing.
