Alien-related games can generally be divided into two groups. In them, either we ourselves go into space and to distant worlds, where we are met by local life forms that are usually unfriendly, or we sit quietly at home, and suddenly bam - a flotilla of unknown spaceships lands, after which we, along with all of humanity, are quickly attacked exterminate.
If we talk about aliens, then many different shooters immediately come to mind - all kinds "Anrialov" and others "Crises". But our top ten includes only the best of them.
10. Contra
The first truly large-scale and lasting invasion of aliens began in 1987, when the first Contra was released on arcade machines, which later moved to many home platforms.
However, initially the players did not even suspect that they would repel an alien invasion. The first 7 levels we fought with the terrorist organization Red Falcon. Alien invasions are usually unexpected. Rare exceptions include an attack by aliens from the Fable universe. The war between their race and humanity began in 2525, when the number of planets inhabited by people was in the dozens.
From the very first days of the conflict, the advantage was in favor of the aliens. Despite some setbacks, in 27 years they managed to capture or destroy almost all of the earth's colonies. Once the government realized the scale of the disaster, strict security measures were taken to keep the Earth's coordinates secret. And yet, in 2552, aliens managed to recognize them. 7. Lost Planet
One of the most popular series about distant lost planets.
The first and second parts are nothing more than operational action with huge beetles. But the third part - on the contrary - pleased with a high-quality single. The game is completely focused only on single playthrough with an interesting plot and a chic atmosphere and large robots.

5.Beyond Good & Evill
In this game, aliens do not play a special role, but it is still a wonderful story about an ordinary girl, Jane, who almost single-handedly saves the planet from evil aliens.
The good and peaceful inhabitants of the planet Hilis were attacked by aliens. The fighters of the Alpha complex stood up to defend the planet, but it turned out that they were of no use, and the main character has to find out why.
Besides Jane's basic abilities, her main weapon is information. She climbs into the most inaccessible corners of the planet, takes photographs of various things and sends them to all news screens in the city.
There is a beautiful world, a twisted plot, interesting gameplay, and a lot of all sorts of complications.
4. XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Probably the most classic series of games about an alien invasion. The last part of the series was released in 2013. - an excellent game with a tactical touch and a good plot.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a remake of the first part, released back in 1994. This project not only did not lose all the charm of the original, but in some ways even improved it. Thanks to much cooler graphics, it's much easier for modern gamers to embrace.
Although, nothing much has changed - there are two gameplays. In the first, we study the situation on a global map and catch flying saucers. There is also a base here that can be built up and developed, and this is very interesting. Well, when we find a detachment of aliens, we go straight to the mission on the tactical map. This is where turn-based tactics and fighter specialization come into play. Each person has two methods of action, for example, throwing a grenade or shooting.

3. Warframe
One of the few online shooters about aliens that provides a level of graphics comparable to, and in some ways even higher than, regular offline games.
So, we play as one of the many Tenno warriors, who are a futuristic variation of the ninja, who, in addition to armored exoskeletons and katanas, have a whole bunch of all kinds of guns in their arsenal, from quite simple machine guns to incredible looking turrets.

2.Half Life 2
If in the first part the player had partners for the first time, then in the second, released in 2004, we generally saw a new word in shooters - first-class graphics, chic design, a continuous plot without division into missions, an excellent story, varied gameplay.. On Prey (2017), and you will most likely agree that it is difficult to find a more common gaming theme than “aliens.” These creatures often appear in the role of both protagonists and antagonists. And we will pay tribute by mentioning cult series, like Aliens vs Predator, StarCraft, XCOM, Final Fantasy, Contra And Destroy All Humans! because none of them had a chance to be in the top "Top Ten Games About Aliens" from the portal SIMHOST.
Perhaps not the longest story telling about aliens, but nevertheless, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition quite a strong project. The main character must be thoroughly armed and prepared for the extermination of giant aliens, simultaneously surviving in harsh climatic conditions.
The game goes through quickly, so you don’t have time to get bored, but making a boom in the process of destroying massive creatures is always welcome. It's a shame that the sequels didn't live up to either the spirit or the bar set by the first one. "Lost Planet", however, regardless of heritage, Extreme Condition– an exciting and challenging shooter with a well-developed plot.
The year is 2020. We are in the midst of a devastating alien invasion, and we must fight our way through hundreds of Ceph and humans in one of the most technologically advanced first-person action games ever made.
With huge locations to explore, a wide variety of tactical options and an amazing sense of presence, Crysis managed to attract the attention of hundreds of thousands of gamers to an interesting story and simply an excellent shooter. The game gathered enough of a fan base for us to get sequels, but it was the first part that made a revolution in many ways.
Terrible explosions. Guts scattered everywhere. People running in terror. This is roughly what the invasion of locusts looked like - aliens who attacked the Earth... from underground. These creatures brought monstrous destruction to the planet, which Epic Games perfectly depicted in depressing gray colors. The first game in the series created a real sensation in what third-person shooters could look like, setting the fashion for cover with the final abandonment of first aid kits in favor of dynamism.
But it was the second part that opened up in terms of scenarios, scale and included the best attractions that the series was just beginning to dabble in Call Of Duty, without slipping into a banal “ka-boom”, but developing the universe and revealing the drama of the acting characters. Even Gears Of War 3 it only tried to seem like an epic conclusion to the trilogy, but it no longer evoked the same sensations.

Original Dead Space managed to brilliantly combine sci-fi surroundings and horror gameplay. The first meeting with the necromorphs (and the subsequent escape from them) can still be reproduced frame-by-frame in your head. They are so creepy that they are, in a way, zombie aliens, only several times deadlier than those in any other horror film, and a locked room with these creepy creatures will more than recreate the atmosphere of panic panic.
Not to say that the plot here is of some book-like proportions, but the story keeps you in suspense and the desire to find answers until the credits. The second game got into the plot, almost ceasing to frighten, but the third... And since Dead Space was so unique in its genre, then without a doubt, it is the first part that deserves the greatest admiration as one of the best games about aliens.
If the previous game doesn't seem lonely enough to you in terms of widespread hostility towards the main character, then the new action game from Arkane Studios will demonstrate exactly what it's like to be surrounded by alien substance. Yes, yes, typhons are capable of appearing in a variety of guises - from a Horror several meters tall, pursuing the main character who is carried away by pumping up extraterrestrial skills, to half-meter-long mimics that cleverly disguise themselves as objects, creating the effect of a terrible surprise.

Original Half-Life It didn't exactly tell a unique story, but it definitely framed it in a pleasant way. The game had a standard scenario about alien creatures, but the gameplay in 1998 became a model for future generations of first-person shooters. Passing Mass Effect, do you believe that if humanity ever flies to conquer space, the picture will not be much different from what was seen in the first M.E.- many races developing in their own small worlds, and so different both in appearance and in principles.
