It’s better to start preparing when the main style has already been chosen and the palette has been determined.

Sometimes just white is enough

Paper decorations

Even kids who have barely learned to hold scissors in their hands are happy to cut out snowflakes. Usually a simple but effective procurement scheme is used:

This is how you fold a sheet of paper to cut out a 6-sided snowflake.

You can come up with hundreds of beautiful openwork patterns by experimenting with trimming the edges of the workpiece. More experienced lovers of preparing for the New Year have their own “proprietary” schemes, and beginners can borrow for starters ready-made templates:

Drawings using templates and stencils

To make the hard work of amateur decorators easier, they came up with templates and stencils. Ready-made New Year's themed kits can be purchased in a store or downloaded from the Internet, and then printed and printed on New Year Use to transfer images to windows.

Christmas scene on the night window

How are templates different from stencils? The templates are outlined, and then the drawing is painted or left in its original form. Stencils are usually used immediately for painting, although you can also trace along the inner contour.

Spray technique using a stencil

The photo instructions show a mirror, but to transfer it to window glass, the same steps are performed.

Cut out a snowflake from paper (outlines of a house, animal, tree).

Using soapy water, glue the snowflake onto the window. You can also use ordinary water, because after painting the stencil will have to be peeled off immediately.

We dilute the toothpaste with a small amount of water, but so that it does not drain, but remains slightly thick. Take a toothbrush and dip it in the prepared solution.

Use your finger to move the bristles of the brush and release it sharply so that the splashes purposefully fall in the area of the stencil. It looks beautiful when there are more splashes in the center, and they disperse along the edges.

Carefully peel off the paper stencil, being careful not to smear any splashes.

The result is a light New Year's image of a snowflake. To decorate a window with similar designs, you will need very little: half a tube of toothpaste, an old toothbrush and stencil paper.

When working with stencils, you can use a dishwashing sponge instead of a brush. We cut off a piece of soft foam rubber, roll it into a roll, and tie it with thread or tape to form a kind of “brush.” Then we blot the cutouts on the stencil.

Decorative pendants and garlands

It is customary to hang garlands everywhere: on the Christmas tree, on the walls, under the ceiling. They decorate houses outside, decorate trees in the garden and small architectural forms in the courtyard. This is also a suitable decoration for windows, because curtain rods are successfully used as an attachment point.

A garland can be made from anything, in fact it is various items, suspended on a thread or ribbon. Traditionally, light flags are strung on a thick thread or strong cord. christmas balls, stars, decorations made of beads or bugles. Children love to make lanterns or caps from colored paper and attach them to a string mixed with snowflakes and pieces of cotton wool to represent snow.

DIY window sill decorations

To make the window truly beautiful for the New Year, according to tradition, not only the glass, but also the window sills are decorated. Fantasy lovers winter holiday knows no boundaries: along with the usual Christmas trees, Snow Maidens and Santa Clauses, natural compositions from branches and moss, romantic arrangements with candles, and snow-covered doll houses appear.

Remember the magical snow globe, inside of which, when you shake it slightly, real snow begins to fall? It’s difficult to make such a toy with your own hands, but we’ll look at how to decorate a windowsill for the New Year using ordinary glass jars. Behind the glass, like in that ball, is a small winter fairy world with houses, forest animals and fir trees.

New Year's gifts under tin lids

There are two options for designing compositions in jars:

  • at the bottom of a jar closed with a lid;
  • on the lid of an inverted jar.

Both options are equally popular, but the second - with an inverted jar - is more often used if the vessel is too deep and it is difficult to reach the bottom. Arranging items on the lid is much easier.

Figurines under a glass cover

Brief instructions for making crafts from inverted cans:

  • we find several glass jars of different sizes with screw-on lids;
  • lay the inverted lids upside down;
  • we place miniature figures of animals, snowmen, people, as well as Christmas trees, houses, etc. on the lids;
  • we tighten the jars, checking that the figures are the right size;
  • If the composition is successful, open the jars and glue the selected items.

Then we finally tighten the jars - original jewelry Ready for the windowsill for the New Year!

You can make beautiful candlesticks from the same glass jars. We paint the glass walls by hand with paints that do not emit harmful substances when heated, and we place small candles inside the vessels. We decorate the upper part with bells, mini-garlands, and tinsel.

Candlesticks with cones

New Year in glasses

Unusual and at the same time natural compositions are obtained from natural materials: cones, coniferous branches and deciduous trees, moss, acorns, dry grass, driftwood, etc. They combine perfectly with artificial snow, serve as an excellent background for miniature figures of bullfinches, deer, hares, and bear cubs.

"Trees" from dry branches

You can build a snow-covered “tree” from dried branches and secure it in a jar or vase. To enliven the picture, we plant bullfinches, tits or woodpeckers on the branches. But since the tree is New Year’s, and therefore magical, anything you want can grow on it: gingerbread cookies and sugar gingerbread cookies, golden beads and small Christmas tree balls, key chains with photographs of relatives and just satin bows.

Just pine cones growing from little chocks

The composition can be made much brighter if glass vase replace it with a gilded bottle, and cover the branches along with the decorations hung on it with sparkles. The easiest option is to buy decorative hairspray, silver or gold, and carefully treat each branch.

Both golden balls and red berries look festive

When we decorate a window sill for the New Year with our own hands, we always try to add something personal and individual, so homemade compositions look warmer, homely and family-friendly.

Candles and illumination

Twinkling lights are an essential component of both a fun and mysterious winter holiday. Even simple white pictures on the windows for the New Year look different if they are illuminated with multi-colored garlands or candles. If the frame of a window made of Christmas tree or pine branches is enlivened with sparkling illumination, it will look much brighter and more positive.

The theme of lanterns-candlesticks is played out in an interesting way

To make candles look more status and solemn, they are placed in bronze or crystal candlesticks and decorated with tinsel, “rain” or beads. But there are many options when you can create a cozy and romantic atmosphere without pretentious candlesticks.

Options for installing candles on the windowsill

Electric garlands are the most spectacular New Year's entourage. Neon, white, multi-colored lights turn even the most boring environment into a festive one. Often, thin threads of electric garlands are used to decorate the New Year tree, and they are also hung along the walls or from the ceiling. They look no less advantageous as decoration for windows and window sills.

New Year's windows as part of interior design

When decorating a room for the New Year, you must adhere to the rule of proportionality. If you decide to decorate a chest of drawers, a window, a table in the center of the room, and even install a Christmas tree, then you need to do this extremely carefully. A large number of bright decorations turn the light festive atmosphere into a booth and quickly get boring. Sometimes a simple design of window glass is enough.

Decorating windows for the New Year is useful, interesting and enjoyable. If you devote several evenings to this creative activity, then for the holiday the interior of the room magically will be transformed: snowflakes will appear on the glass, and fabulous compositions of homemade crafts will appear on the window sills.

New Year - fabulous holiday, which each of us is looking forward to. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare for it in advance. To create a pre-New Year mood in your home, they use various secrets: decorate the Christmas tree, decorate the walls and windows with multi-colored garlands, hang fancy “Chinese” lanterns, etc. The windows are also not neglected: more and more often in houses shining with multi-colored lights you can see stunning designs on the windows for the New Year!

The idea of decorating windows for the New Year originated in ancient times. For example, the Celts decorated the shutters of their houses and wooden window sills with fragrant spruce branches: it was believed that their smell drove away evil spirits and evil spirits. Among the Chinese, ringing decorations played a similar role: in their opinion, the melody of bells frightens the demon and prevents him from entering the house.

In Russia, the tradition of painting images on windows for the New Year holidays appeared thanks to Peter I. It was he who ordered to decorate their homes with a Christmas tree, as well as multi-colored ribbons and toys. The beloved tradition stuck in Soviet period: our grandparents decorated the windows with paper snowflakes, homemade fabric compositions, and painted with toothpaste on the glass.

Nowadays, “New Year’s” traditions have not changed, but have been supplemented with new ways of decoration. Today, to decorate windows for the New Year, you can:

  • purchase special paint for painting on glass, which is easily washed off after the festivities;
  • buy thematic templates/stencils or download them for free from the Internet;
  • use original stickers and New Year's toys etc.

Paper window decorations

This is the most optimal method of decorating for the New Year: affordable and economical, but most importantly – as creative as possible and loved by children. The main thing is consistent adherence to the instructions. Popular solutions include: unique stencils, fancy garlands and, of course, nostalgic snowflakes!

Stencils

You can make cardboard or paper stencils yourself, buy them at your local gift shop, or find them online. These New Year's elements will be an excellent decoration for a glazed balcony or loggia. Find the template you like, download it to your computer, print it on A4 and cut it out along the outline.

The finished paper image can be:

  • hang on a string in front of the window: you can tie the decoration to a curtain or curtain;
  • stick to glass: use ordinary soapy water (there are fewer problems with subsequent peeling off);
  • attach the stencil to the window and trace it with soap: then you can color the resulting image with paint or the same soap.

Fairy lights

Kids just love making these colorful snakes! However, it is best for parents to supervise the manufacturing technique. You will need:

  • multi-colored paper;
  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • pencil.

The most simple technique. It is necessary to cut strips of the following parameters from colored paper: width – 1 cm, length – 12 mm. Glue rings from miniature strips, carefully threading one ring into the previous one.

Snowflakes

A wonderful classic of the genre. Your child will be happy when you show him magical transformation a modest piece of paper into a fantastic snowflake. The technique for making different “snow” shapes is always the same: fold the template with the drawn lines (see diagram below) and carefully cut out the image along the contour. It is recommended to glue snowflakes to glass with ordinary soapy water.

It is best to use different stencils, in this case you will have a whole warehouse of snowflakes - unusual shapes and attractive patterns.

Painting the windows

A unique design on a New Year's window is a good tradition known to everyone. One has only to lightly touch the cold glass and decorate it with bright New Year's flowers, and the room will become much warmer and more comfortable.
It’s easy to create an indescribable mood with the help of colorful compositions. Depending on what kind of images you want to obtain, you need to purchase various materials:

  • PVA glue: used as a complementary agent. Apply the contours of the design to the glass using glue and stick glitter and tinsel on it. The result is an unusually fluffy composition.

To decorate your home for the New Year, a variety of thematic designs and scenes are used. Most often depicted:

  • weightless snowflakes in white colors;
  • Snow Maiden and Father Frost;
  • an elegant Christmas tree decorated with lanterns;
  • painted sleigh and reindeer of Santa Claus;
  • colored toys and garlands.

However, it is best not to limit yourself to just the New Year theme. An effective addition to the traditional composition will be:

  • funny faces;
  • forest animals;
  • houses with “warm” windows;
  • snowy landscapes;
  • heroes of children's fairy tales.

It would also be appropriate to use Christmas scenes:

  • angels;
  • candles;
  • gift packaging;
  • biblical theme.

Tip: Create New Year’s drawings on windows in an “airy” and light format: do not overload the window with monochromatic colors. The exception is snowy landscapes - here it is appropriate White color with the addition of one bright accent.

Necessary materials

  • brushes of various shapes;
  • scissors/stationery knife;
  • brush for cleaning teeth;
  • sticks and scrapers;
  • fabric (for washing);
  • jar for water.

Drawing technique

1. Having chosen the image you like, you need to print it in the form of a stencil. Using carbon paper, transfer the drawing onto whatman paper.

2. Cut out the composition along the contour. Attach the stencil to the window using soapy water

3. Trace the template with paint or paste. Wait until the paint dries and remove the stencil.

4. Draw the details with thin sticks and a brush, erase all excess.

To create a “fluffy” effect, you need to wet your toothbrush in plain water with a few drops of paint added. After this, “shade” the paint with your fingers.

Note: To quickly dry the design, you can use a regular hairdryer: cold air and low flow.

"Toy" stained glass windows

Decorating windows for the New Year with toys is considered the most ancient and traditional way of New Year's decor. Shiny holiday balls, bright tinsel, toy animals, cotton wool figures - absolutely everything is suitable for this task.

Delight your baby with a wonderful composition from a fairy tale by decorating the nursery with plush characters. The windows in the living room can be decorated with fluffy rain, decorative candles, bells, New Year's lights, balls and Christmas wreaths, attaching them to the cornice.

    My daughter and I love to paint windows during the New Year holidays. For these purposes I buy special stained glass paints, complete with them there are several templates with various images, but mostly we come up with the drawings ourselves. It turns out very colorful. But we have never used toothpaste for painting on glass; it’s a great idea, worth a try.

    How lucky I was to read the article. We just wanted to paint the windows with the children for the New Year. Very good idea paint them using toothpaste and gouache. I also really liked getting the splashing effect using a toothbrush. We ourselves would not have thought of this. We will use with great pleasure your ideas for painting windows from the photo selection.

    I picked up a lot of interesting ideas, I especially liked the ideas with toothpaste and stencils that can be glued with soap. I did this as a child, but over time I forgot and with the advent of my children I had to come up with something. Store-bought ones are of course convenient and quick, but how fun it is to make all the decorations yourself with your children. The children were very proud that they did everything themselves, because the whole yard looks at our balcony and is jealous!

    Very beautiful. I remember back in the 90s, my sisters and I created similar magic on the windows. For this we used gouache paints, the drawings were taken not from my head, but from the plots of New Year's cards. Thus, our windows acquired fabulous view. They also decorated the doors, which were then painted a boring white. Nowadays there are a great variety of means for decorations!

Decorating the windows yourself for the New Year - what could be more interesting for children! To decorate windows for the New Year, it is better to use non-purchased ones. new Year decoration, but made with your own hands. Each New Year's window in the house can be decorated differently. In this article you will find many interesting ways to decorate windows for the New Year. It’s best to decorate New Year’s windows with the whole family.

New Year's window. How to decorate windows for the New Year

1. Decorate the windows for the New Year. Decorate the window for the New Year

The simplest and most affordable thing is to decorate the windows with snowflakes cut out of paper. How to cut beautiful snowflakes from the paper you can read. Now we’ll tell you how to glue snowflakes to windows. To do this, you will only need regular soap (preferably simple baby soap). The moistened sponge needs to be thoroughly soaped and then coated with it on the snowflake. Now, if we place a snowflake with the soapy side on the glass, it will stick. It will be very easy to remove it later - just pull the edge a little, and it will fall off on its own. And traces of soap remaining on the glass will simply need to be washed off with water.

From snowflakes of different sizes you can create a whole New Year's composition on the window. Look at how the window was originally decorated for the New Year using an openwork Christmas tree made of snowflakes.

2. New Year's window. How to decorate a window for the New Year

Surely, many parents remember how they decorated windows for the New Year in childhood, painting them with regular toothpaste diluted with a small amount of water. It's time to teach this to your children. The website nika-po.livejournal.com describes two interesting ways how to paint windows for the New Year with toothpaste.

1st method.

A piece of foam rubber needs to be rolled up into a tube and secured with tape to create a convenient “poke”. Squeeze the toothpaste onto a saucer, dip our poke there and press it to the glass or mirror. We draw fir branches.

Using plastic stencils you can draw Christmas tree decorations. But you can do without stencils. That is, it doesn’t cost anything to make a Christmas ball stencil yourself. To do this, you just need to cut out a circle in a piece of cardboard.

When the paste dries slightly (only slightly!), use a wooden stick to draw the details. Using a thin brush and paste diluted with water, draw strings for the toys.

2nd method.

Another way to draw with toothpaste is to make negative images. And so... we make another beautiful New Year's window.

Cut out a snowflake from paper. After slightly moistening it with water, glue the snowflake onto the glass. Gently blot off excess liquid around the snowflake with a dry cloth. Now in some container you need to dilute a little toothpaste with water. To decorate a window for the New Year, you should use white toothpaste, without colored stripes.

And now let’s start decorating the New Year’s window in the so-called. "spray technique". Dip a toothbrush into the toothpaste and water and spray it onto the glass. The first splashes are too large (=ugly), so you need to shake them off somewhere, and only then splash them on the window.

Wait a little until it dries and peel off the snowflake.

5. New Year's window. How to decorate a window for the New Year

What other ones are there? interesting ideas for decorating New Year's windows? For example, the website sonnenspiel.livejournal.com describes a way to make beautiful window stickers yourself from ordinary PVA glue. PVA glue is non-toxic, and this, you see, is a big plus. New Year's window stickers are transparent. Due to this, during the day they do not interfere with the view of the street, and in the evening they are beautifully illuminated by street lights and flicker “icy”. They are reusable: easy to remove and stick back. They don't peel off on their own.

In order to make New Year's window stickers with your own hands, you will need:

Stencils for drawing
- transparent files
- PVA glue
- syringe without needle
- tassel

The stencils should be placed in files and a thick layer of PVA glue should be outlined over the transparent film. The most convenient way to do this is by drawing glue into a syringe. Note: it is better to take designs for stencils without many small “internal” parts and rather large ones, since the glue spreads a little and you can get a solid transparent spot instead of an elegant pattern.

We put the drawings in a safe place to dry. After drying, the PVA glue becomes transparent and can be easily removed from the sheet. Now all that remains is to carefully paste the homemade stickers on the New Year's window. Note: it doesn’t matter if, when drawing, the picture is “blurred” in some place; after drying, it can be easily “corrected” with scissors - PVA is easily cut in a dried state. For the same reason, it’s not scary if the baby goes beyond the edges of the picture when coloring the sticker or smearing the glue - all the excess will be cut off.

New Year's window stickers can also be made using a glue gun or

purchased volumetric paints.

You can give a finished look to your New Year's window with the help of a luminous winter landscape. This is a wonderful decoration for the windowsill that will delight you on cold winter evenings.

You will need:

Cardboard or thick paper
- foam rubber
- glue
- scissors
- Christmas tree garland

Make a cardboard box with low sides the entire length of the window sill. Place foam rubber on the bottom of the box. Place the Christmas tree garland with the bulbs facing up into the pre-made slot in the foam rubber. What remains is the most difficult and at the same time interesting part. You need to cut out a winter landscape (Christmas trees, houses with windows, deer) from cardboard or thick paper and glue it from the inside to the sides of the box. Or secure it inside the box in any other way. Now all that remains is to wait until evening, turn on the garland and watch the lights burn in the paper houses.
