Recently, a variety of pita bread snacks have become very popular, including stuffed pita bread in the form of a roll. I really like them too, and I often prepare them for guests. The filling for a lavash roll can be very varied, depending on your preferences.

In my culinary notebook there are a lot of ideas for stuffing lavash, but perhaps one of the most successful is the recipe for lavash rolls with ham and melted cheese.

It is really very interesting: ham and melted cheese in the company of fresh vegetables make the roll satisfying, quite juicy, and beautiful to cut, which is important. After all, a dish should not only be tasty, but also quite attractive in appearance, don’t you agree?

So, this roll completely meets the requirements and is an appetizer that can be safely prepared for any occasion: guests will certainly like it. Well, I won’t tell you for a long time what a wonderful dish this is, I’d better quickly tell you how to make a pita roll with ham and melted cheese.

Ingredients:

  • 2 sheets of thin pita bread;
  • 1 processed cheese;
  • 1 tbsp. mayonnaise;
  • 5-6 pieces of lettuce;
  • 100 g ham;
  • 1 small cucumber;
  • 1 small tomato;
  • greenery;
  • salt and pepper to taste.

How to make a lavash roll with ham and melted cheese:

We will need thin lavash, it is also called Armenian. It is ideal for rolls - it rolls up easily and tastes well with a variety of foods. For a roll with ham and vegetables we need 2 sheets of pita bread measuring 20x40 cm.

Now let's start filling the lavash rolls. Three processed cheese on a medium or fine grater and mix with mayonnaise. You should get a paste-like mass that is easy to spread. Be sure to try it - you may want to add salt and pepper.

Grease the first sheet of pita bread with processed cheese and mayonnaise. We should have about half of the total amount of cheese mass.

Place lettuce on the pita bread with cheese in one layer.

Cut the ham into thin slices and place on top of the lettuce leaves.

Now let's take care of the second sheet of pita bread. We also grease it with a mixture of processed cheese and mayonnaise (the remaining amount is used). And put the second pita bread with cheese mixture on the first sheet - with lettuce and ham.

Cut the cucumber and tomato into thin strips and place on a second sheet of pita bread. Finely chop the greens (I used parsley) and add them to the vegetables.

Roll the pita bread into a tube (quite tight). And, wrapped in foil or cling film, put it in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.

Then all we have to do is cut the pita roll with ham and vegetables into round pieces 1.5-2 cm thick and we can serve it on the table.

Step 1: prepare the ingredients.

First, let's prepare the pita bread. We release our test ingredient from the packaging and place it on the table. Then, using a tablespoon, apply an even layer of mayonnaise to the surface of the pita bread and leave it in this state to soak for a while.
Next, take a piece of cheese, place it on a cutting board and, using a knife, cut it into slices of arbitrary shape and thickness. If you have a large piece, then 3 slices will be enough, and if your initial piece size is small, then calculate in such a way as to cover the entire middle of the pita bread with this ingredient. Place the resulting slices on a layer of mayonnaise and move on to the ham.
Remove the film from the meat ingredient and transfer it to a cutting board. In order to make it more convenient to roll the pita bread into a roll in the future, cut the ham into as thin slices as possible, in the amount of 4 pieces, and place them on a layer of cheese. Cover the top with the ham, again with sliced cheese, and you can start forming the roll.

Step 2: form a roll.

To prevent the cheese from leaking out during frying, you need to properly wrap the pita bread into a roll. To do this, starting from the bottom edge, roll our pita bread to the middle into a roll. Then, we bend the two sides inward towards each other. And holding them with your hand, we continue to twist the pita bread. Thus, we get some kind of envelope. Once we have completed this task, we move on to the next stage of preparation.

Step 3: fry the pita roll with ham and cheese.

Turn the stove temperature to medium. Pour a little olive oil into a frying pan and place it on the burner. After the oil in the frying pan is hot enough, transfer our rolled pita bread into it. Fry the roll first on one side until a beautiful golden brown crust forms, then using a kitchen spatula, carefully turn it over to the other side and fry the other side. This process will take you no more 6 minutes. Transfer the finished roll to a plate.

Step 4: Serve the pita roll with ham and cheese.

This dish can be eaten either hot or chilled, and for greater convenience it can be cut in half and served with any drinks. And if you cut it into small rolls and decorate them beautifully with herbs, you will get a delicious snack for any holiday table. Cook with pleasure! Bon appetit!

If you don't have mozzarella cheese, then you can replace it with any other cheese you like and that melts easily.

To fry a lavash roll, it is not necessary to use olive oil; you can use any other vegetable oil, such as sunflower.

The ham can be replaced with carb or your favorite smoked sausage.

You can also add herbs, vegetables, minced meat or pieces of boiled chicken to the filling of the lavash roll.

A lavash snack roll is a real lifesaver for the housewife. You can experiment and experiment with the fillings of such a roll. You can make, for example, fish rolls with smoked salmon, mushroom rolls, or cook them with cheese and salami. Most often I prepare this appetizer roll with lightly salted fish and ham. Step-by-step recipe for lavash roll with ham and cheese

In a small cup, combine mayonnaise with garlic, after peeling it and finely chopping it. For lovers of spicy snacks, the amount of garlic can be increased to suit your taste.

Grind the cheese on a grater. To prevent it from sticking together into a mass, the surface of the grater can be lubricated with a drop of vegetable oil, and the cheese can be cooled in the refrigerator in advance.

Rinse the greens in water and remove excess moisture with a paper towel. Cut off the stems and finely chop the greens with a knife.

Cut the ham into small pieces of small thickness.

Unroll one sheet of lavash and place it on the table. Spread half a portion of mayonnaise over the entire surface, paying special attention to the edges of the pita bread so that they do not remain dry. Spread half the ham portion, then sprinkle with the ham pieces and herbs.

Cover the first with a second sheet of lavash and also apply a layer of mayonnaise. Add the filling in the same way as the first time.

Wrap the pita bread tightly in the form of a roll, secure with cling film and put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. After the specified time, unroll the pita bread from the film, cut into rounds 2-3 cm thick and place on a flat dish.
