Evgeny Kuznetsov is an artist whose paintings are so striking that there is a desire to look at them again and again. Simple, at first glance, plots and bright colors conceal such a mystery in their depths that it seems - solve it, and the whole meaning of human existence will be revealed to you.

The outstanding talent of Yevgeny Kuznetsov is undeniable - born in 1960, the artist, at the age of 31 he already became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. And his paintings are in numerous private collections and in the collections of museums and exhibition halls in many countries of the world. And no wonder! It is enough to look at his work to understand that the artist has his own unique style, which attracts attention and attracts more and more new people to the camp of his fans.

The paintings of Evgeny Kuznetsov are always filled with a special spirit of romanticism and beauty. The aesthetics of his paintings is so high that they cannot go unnoticed even when surrounded by the works of the most outstanding masters of the past. It is simply impossible to pass by them - you will definitely stop to have a better look at these amazing works. In his paintings, everything seems to be simple and at the same time so unusual that it makes you think and reflect on the plot. Here the girl and the young man are standing side by side, she put her head on his shoulder - it seems that this couple in love froze only for a moment to tell each other about their feelings. But then why didn't he look at her, why did he turn away? And the rose, the constant symbol of love, is not in her hands, but in his. And the girl, clinging to the young man, carefully examines the sharp tip of the spear, touching it with a gentle finger. What is the meaning of everything depicted? Does the picture show the secret desires of the people depicted in it, or does it symbolize a person’s constant dissatisfaction with what he has, and his eternal desire for something new and unexplored?

And here is another picture - a naked woman touches a sleeping knight. He was tired, he had not been at home for a long time, she had been waiting for him for a long time. But why does he sleep in full knightly attire, without taking off his armor and not releasing his sword from his hands? Is he so tired or is this a veiled hint that the woman's desire will remain unsatisfied? Each work of Yevgeny Kuznetsov raises similar questions, which is why they are so attractive to the viewer. After all, any person is interested in uncertainty, innuendo and the opportunity to find a solution to a riddle that torments many.

Evgeny Kuznetsov is an artist who has his own recognizable style, combining romanticism and abstraction. In his paintings, he creates a new, mysterious world of fantasies and dreams with color and rhythm. Someone compared his colors to fragments of magic mirrors, which the artist collected and harmoniously laid in a new order.

Evgeny Kuznetsov was born in 1960 in Stavropol. There he graduated from an art school, and in Krasnodar - the Kuban State University, where he studied at artistic and graphic faculty. If we compare the early work and the work of recent years, we can clearly see a change in emphasis. The artist began to more carefully prescribe the faces of the characters, and a certain philosophy appeared in the paintings.

The technology of creating paintings has also changed. Evgeny added additional complicating moves to the classical method of applying paint: adding paper fragments, using transparent gels to increase the feeling of three-dimensional paintings. Plots come to the artist's mind at first as fragments of images, which then fancifully add up into a single composition.

Eugene travels a lot. The main thing that he brings back from his trips is a sense of color and new unexpected stories inspired by original countries.

Romanticism in the visual arts in all ages has been very attractive to masters, it has always been very clearly manifested both in painting and in graphics. Speaking about the romantic artists of our time, first of all, it is worth noting the painter from Stavropol Evgenia Kuznetsova, who has a bright multifaceted talent, deep philosophical thinking, owns an original handwriting and an extraordinary vision of beauty.

In contrast to classicism, which glorifies the power of the human mind, romantics have always sought to convey feelings to the viewer: love and tenderness, violent passion and trepidation, daydreaming and euphoria, which can absorb a person entirely, capturing thoughts and actions. Therefore, viewers of all eras have always treated romanticism in a special way ...

Romantic and philosopher from art - Evgeny Kuznetsov

Evgeny Kuznetsov is a hereditary artist, originally from Stavropol. To say that he "followed in the footsteps of his father" is not to say: paying tribute to the academic direction of his father's handwriting, the son nevertheless went his own way. And to say that Eugene was fond of drawing from childhood is also impossible to say: only in the 7th grade the teenager took his first steps in painting. And later, the Art School of his native city and the Kuban State University of Painting and Graphics gave the young man a good start.

Since 1981, Evgeny Kuznetsov has been a regular participant in various exhibitions in the country. A little later than the international art forums held in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Vietnam, Egypt, Korea, India, Nepal, the USA…

In the early 90s, Evgeny Georgievich was accepted as a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. A little later he received membership in the International Public Organization of Painters "Sunny Square". And in 2012, the masters were awarded the gold medal of the Russian Academy of Arts.

Evgeny Kuznetsov as an artist is incomprehensible and unpredictable. He uses abstract fantasy and mysticism, allegory and symbolism in various combinations, subordinating them to his non-standard thinking. He is artistic and intelligent, slightly mysterious and well erudite, he is always ready to experiment and create something new that another person will never come up with. Having conceived the main plot of the picture, the master almost always changes it beyond recognition by the end of the work: new artistic images appear, the mood and sometimes visual means and methods change.

In addition, the artist is constantly looking for new techniques and materials in his work. Thus, gluing paper and using transparent gels creates the effect of volume and texture, which is a special feature of all the works of the master.

Kuznetsov himself describes the process of creating his creations as follows: “So many accidents. Shards of a mirror that once reflected a beautiful and harmonious world. Everything was shattered and mixed up. But all the parts are still alive, you can try to put them back together. If only to know that, the former order. So many possibilities. Those parts that were so far apart suddenly lay side by side, converged, almost converged, and what was in them revealed a new, ancient-secret connection. Funny and serious minor in major, emphasis on the weak beat, blues, smiles in shards of tears.

The painter very successfully uses abstraction in his painting. Moreover, it is not shapeless and unrecognizable, but very organically harmonizes with real images and is distinguished by beauty and persuasiveness. And what is important, all his creations have positive vital energy, inner glow and philosophical content.

And if the main business of life for Eugene has always been painting. His main hobbies are music and collecting musical instruments. The artist is very good, as an amateur, owns a flute, guitar and piano. And from distant travels, he certainly brings various musical instruments for his collection.

Family idyll

It is unlikely that an artist who does not have family happiness could create such amazing romantic canvases, saturated with tenderness and love. His wife Olga is an artist who teaches drawing at school and her son Yegor is the foundation on which not only the artist's work stands.

The unity of interests and goals from the first day of family life allowed this couple to be immensely happy. Olga and Yevgeny, while still students, traveled all around the city on bicycles with sketchbooks in search of nature. Yes, and my son from the age of nine months became a full-fledged participant in traveling plein-airs to the country house and to the mountains.

And when Yegorka was three years old, it was decided at the family council that he was already an old enough boy to go on a trip to Novorossiysk. The young couple traveled like that - with backpacks, sketchbooks and a son behind them. And wherever the couple of artists has not visited, what roads of Russia have not gone. Each trip brought a lot of new impressions, sketches and creative ideas. And most importantly - even stronger united the family.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the son followed in the footsteps of not only his father, but also his grandfather, Georgy Ivanovich, who was a famous artist who once came from Siberia to raise the virgin lands of art in the South of Russia ... And the time is not far off when Stavropol will host a panoramic display of the work of three generations of Kuznetsov artists.

If in the early works there was a color diversity and diversity of images, then later there was a tendency of accents. Gradually, the faces became clearer, in which the characters began to clear up, and in the plots an individual vision of the world began to appear. Such, for example, is the painting “Network”: in the general plot, the characters of the characters are already clearly coming to life, essential details appear that make the work truly philosophical.

Over time, the author also improved the writing technique: experiments make it possible to expand the classic multi-layer writing by gluing paper, using transparent gels. As a result, the paintings acquire not only visual versatility.

The paintings by Yevgeny Kuznetsov are also unique in their artistic effect: the viewer is invariably immersed in the world of the painting, up to living sensations. At the same time, when starting to write, Evgeny Kuznetsov admits that he does not have the original idea of the plot: inspiration prompts the topic, and the details arise in the course of work. That is why the artist does not like to paint portraits to order: for Kuznetsov, a person becomes the starting point for the flight of creativity. Already many see in him an outstanding artist of our time! His phenomenal talent in the ability to convey the depth of true feelings, the beauty of human nature and the surrounding nature in his paintings is unparalleled! Kuznetsov has his own unique style and genre. He has his own deepest philosophy of seeing life, and this is reflected in his work.

The paintings exude romanticism and magic…

If you look closely at the paintings of an outstanding artist, you can note his original technique, amazing composition and some unearthly beauty.

Sometimes it seems that a complete abstraction is depicted, but in Yevgeny Kuznetsov it is very organically and naturally combined with real images, which in the end shows a single holistic composition that has its own completeness! And it exudes romanticism and magic ...

The artist claims that the idea of his paintings appears spontaneously: something abstract and completely incomprehensible suddenly combines in the head into a single coherent picture in which the storyline is visible, and as a result, a real masterpiece appears on the canvas!

For example, as Kuznetsov himself, the artist, says about the painting “Shepherds' Roads” in an interview, this canvas began with the painting of an evening field. And then a shepherd somehow appeared by itself on this field ... People who saw this work by Evgeny Kuznetsov claim that they hear the sounds of a shepherd's flute.

And so with many of his works ...

The artist boldly experiments, and he always has his own point of view on depicting only what he himself wants to portray, what his soul feels at a particular moment, but not what others expect from him. And it's great!

Flowers in Kuznetsov's painting

The artist loves to depict nature in his works, namely flowers. For him, they are the personification of true perfection and the greatest beauty of the world! Kuznetsov claims the same about women. But more on that later.

Most of all he likes to draw roses and lilies. The first ones turn out on his canvases to be incredibly plastic and lively, bright and at the same time very tender, that you even want to touch them in order to feel their subtlest aroma.

Lilies by the artist Kuznetsov are most often white. It means crystal clear. They are also very beautiful and at the same time incredibly modest in their whiteness and unpretentiousness.

The couple's theme in Kuznetsov's paintings

But the most truly enchanting plot in the creative works of Evgeny Kuznetsov is the theme of a man and a woman. Each of his works is the peak of perfection and beauty of genuine feelings that can only be between a Woman and a Man!

And what deep and at the same time simple as the world, these names of his paintings:

  • "Touching Melody";
  • "Step";
  • "Trill";
  • "Flowers and Herbs";
  • "Morning Stars";
  • "Ray";
  • "Good gardener";
  • "Window" and others.

All this cannot be called otherwise, only real romanticism in the painting of Evgeny Kuznetsov.

The theme of a woman for Evgeny Kuznetsov is special and reverent. He treats his beloved wife and muse with the greatest reverence, tenderness and respect! And therefore, each heroine of his paintings is written out with special care and endowed with magical lightness, softness, almost ephemeral, but all of them are deeply loved and revered by the artist, because their images are taken from his beloved wife. Although the artist himself claims that he is trying to keep the golden mean here too.

How does the artist himself live?

Evgeny Kuznetsov travels a lot around the world. In addition to the fact that his exhibitions are almost regularly held in different countries, he can also simply, so to speak, for inspiration, go to some exotic or simply interesting country for him. This is necessary for him, as the artist himself claims, so that his horizons become wider and the picture of the world is more fully visible, which then, naturally, has its reflection on his canvases.

And Kuznetsov, in addition to painting and traveling, is a very big lover of music and can even play musical instruments. Some of them are in his home collection.

But the true reflection of his inner world is the paintings of the artist Kuznetsov! It is they, like nothing else, that reflect all of his deep essence as a person and creator, his attitude to life and people, to human existence as a whole!
